From 1975 to 1979, I pursued my academic journey at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Kumamoto University, culminating in the award of a B.Sc. in Chemistry. Building upon this foundation, I continued my studies from 1979 to 1981, earning an M.Sc. in Chemistry with a thesis titled “Oxidation of 9-Xanthenones with Manganese(III) Acetate. Regioselective Carboxylation,” under the guidance of Professor Kazu Kurosawa. In 1988, I furthered my scholarly pursuits at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Tohoku University, obtaining a Ph.D. in Chemistry. My doctoral research, supervised by Professor Kazu Kurosawa and Professor Sho Ito, focused on “Study of Organic Reactions Using Manganese(III) Complexes,” enriching my understanding of chemical dynamics. 🎓
