Educationย

In the captivating realm of molecular machines and inorganic photochemistry, I embarked on an academic journey that commenced with a solid foundation at Ecole Normale Supรฉrieure of Lyon, where I obtained my BSc degree and “Maรฎtrise” in Physical Chemistry. Prior to that, my thirst for knowledge was nurtured during my time in “Classes prรฉparatoires” in Saint-Etienne, France. ๐ŸŽ“ Transitioning seamlessly, I pursued my academic aspirations at Strasbourg University, culminating in an MSc Degree cum laude in “Transition Metal Chemistry and Molecular Engineering” in 2002. Driven by a passion for cutting-edge research, I delved into my PhD thesis from 2002 to 2005, under the guidance of the esteemed Dr. Jean-Pierre Sauvage, Nobel Laureate 2016. ๐ŸŒŸ This enriching experience solidified my expertise in the intricate workings of molecular machinery and the fascinating realm of inorganic photochemistry.

Professional experience

Embarking on a dynamic trajectory in the realm of chemistry, my journey has been marked by diverse experiences and relentless pursuit of knowledge. ๐Ÿงช My academic voyage commenced with a tenure track in inorganic chemistry at Leiden University from 2009 to 2014, evolving into an esteemed position as an Associate Professor from 2015 to 2020, and ultimately ascending to the role of a Full Professor in photobioinorganic chemistry since 2020. ๐ŸŽ“ Prior to my tenure at Leiden, I honed my skills through postdoctoral research stints at Utrecht University, collaborating with luminaries like Prof. Bert Klein Gebbink, Prof. Antoinette Killian, and Prof. Gerard van Koten, delving into realms such as chemical biology, membrane chemistry, catalysis, and organometallic chemistry. ๐ŸŒŸ Before my academic pursuits, I dedicated myself to fostering young minds as a full-time teacher in physics and chemistry during my French National Civil Service Abroad stint at a French High School in Berlin, Germany, from 1999 to 2001. ๐Ÿ“š
